An independent property development company required a specialist glazing contractor to complete an extensive facade refurbishment project to a central Welwyn Garden City Premises. The works, when completed, would see the building converted from a commercial premise to new residential accommodation.

The GR Large Works division were awarded this contract based on a proven ability within the commercial sector of delivering high level glazing / vent replacement programmes on time, on programme and most importantly with safety at the forefront of everything we do.

The first phase of works commenced with preparation works to the glazed curtain walling before beginning with the installation of the vented glass to the buildings existing curtain walling. The pictures illustrate our operatives in action, installing the replacement double glazed units incorporating a ventilation detail to the existing curtain wall.
Throughout these works our team used a range of MEWP access machines to assist with the varying levels of glass replacements.

In order to provide an aesthetic match to the existing facade, our procurement team showed their product sourcing capabilities by contacting our European wide list of manufacturers to gain the correct replacement specification.
