Leak Detection and Rectification - Solving the Inevitable

Unfortunately, it is the nature of the modern world that the mechanisms on which we depend are liable to go wrong. In regards to glazing this is certainly true, and even the best glazing is vulnerable to certain issues, one of the most prevalent being water ingress, or leaking.

When glazing leaks it is called water ingress, and it is an extremely common problem with all kinds of glazing. However, whilst its occurrence is ubiquitous it can be an extremely serious problem, which makes the leak detection and rectification aspect of our commercial glazing maintenance solution fundamental.

Causes

There are many causes of water ingress in a window space and these include glazing failure, system blockage or seal degeneration. Each of these issues can render a window not only useless, but potentially hazardous, which makes glazing repairs a matter of health and safety as well as a matter of aesthetics.

Detection

On a commercial basis, deficiencies in glazing can be difficult to detect. With this in mind, at Glazing Refurbishment we employ a range of glazing refurbishment technologies to ensure any issues are effectively detected. For example, we use everything from ultrasonics to tracer colourings, all with a view to detecting any signs of water ingress.

Solutions

Due to the variety of causes of water ingress, there is no one size fits all solution to the problem, and only will a positive resolution be met after consultation and careful forethought of the issue - with a guarantee of long term efficiency to give our clients that additional level of peace of mind.
